Info for Our German Customers:

On April 28, 2020, the German StVO regarding the use of speed camera alerts was tightened. According to the new legislation, it is still allowed to have the "Speed Camera Alerts" function installed on a smartphone or navigation device, but this service must not be actively used during trips within Germany. On all new TomTom products, this service is already deactivated by default. It is recommended to keep it deactivated during trips within Germany. If a customer drives in Germany with the speed camera alert activated, they risk a fine and points in Flensburg (additionally, there is a risk that the device will be confiscated for evidence purposes).

Deactivating Speed Camera Alerts:

1. Select the main menu button in the map or route view to display the main menu
2. Scroll to the right side of the display and select "Settings"
3. Select "Sounds and Warnings"
4. Slide the toggle for "Speed Camera Alerts" to the left to deactivate.
