Info for our German Customers:

On April 28, 2020, the German StVO was tightened regarding the use of speed camera alerts. According to the new legislation, it is still allowed to have the “speed camera alerts” function installed on a smartphone or navigation device, but this service may not be actively used when driving within Germany. This service is already deactivated by default on all new TomTom products. It is recommended to keep it deactivated when driving within Germany. If a customer drives in Germany with activated speed camera alerts, he/she risks a fine and points in Flensburg (additionally, there is a risk that the device may be confiscated for evidence purposes).

Deactivating speed camera alerts:

1. Select the main menu button in the map or route view to display the main menu
2. Scroll to the right side of the display and select the “Settings” option
3. Select “Sounds and Warnings”
4. Slide the “Speed Camera Alerts” toggle to the left to deactivate.
