Info for our German Customers:

On April 28, 2020, the German StVO regarding the use of speed camera alerts was tightened. According to the new legislation, it is still allowed to have the "speed camera alerts" feature installed on a smartphone or navigation device, but this service may not be actively used when driving within Germany. This service is already deactivated by default on all new TomTom products. It is recommended to keep it deactivated while driving within Germany. If a customer drives in Germany with the speed camera alert activated, he/she risks a fine as well as points in Flensburg (there is also the risk that the device will be confiscated for evidence purposes).

Deactivating Speed Camera Alerts:

1. Select the main menu button in the map or route view to display the main menu
2. Scroll to the right side of the display and select "Settings"
3. Select "Sounds and Warnings"
4. Slide the slider for "Speed Camera Alerts" to the left to deactivate.
