Approval (in Germany):
With almost all models with ABE.
The supplied ABE booklet must be carried during the ride.
Entry in the vehicle documents is possible for convenience but not necessary.

Only if your model in the Bike-DB contains the note "with parts certificate," the following is necessary for approval (if this note is not found, the steering damper has an ABE!):
With TÜV parts certificate.
A tester (TÜV, Dekra, etc.) must confirm the correct installation before operation in public road traffic.
This test confirmation must then, similar to an ABE, be carried during the ride.
At the next opportunity (i.e., the next visit to the road traffic office for registration/deregistration/re-registration), it should then be included in the registration documents.
