Approval (in Germany):
With technical approval certificate.
The installation must be approved by an inspection by TÜV, Dekra, GTÜ, etc.
Their certificate must then be carried as proof, similar to a general operating permit, during the ride.
At the next opportunity (registration, deregistration, or reregistration), this should then be entered into the vehicle documents.
