Robust und gut
Sehr wertige Verarbeitung und tolle Diebstahlsicherung. Die Routenführung kann je nach Geschmack angepasst werden und wenn man Zeit hat, macht die Tour mit der Einstellung "Kurvenreich" richtig Spaß. Ein Stern muss ich leider für das Display abziehen, es ist technisch einfach nicht ab dem neuesten Stand. Aber es macht, was es soll und ist immer gut ablesbar. Von mir für den Preis eine Kaufempfehlung.

Ein gutes Gerät
Ich hatte bislang von TomTom insgesamt 3 Rider und kann behaupten, dass dieser neue Rider 550 ein gutes Gerät ist. Alles andere gesagt, wäre auch falsch. Als Vorgänger hatte ich bislang den Urban Rider, Rider 400 und zuletzt den Rider 450. Nachdem nun der neue Rider 550 erschienen ist, habe ich mich von meinem 450er verabschiedet. Der Rider 550 ist in der Routenberechnung merkbar schneller als der Vorgänger. Dass das Navi einen in Bereiche lotst, welche gesperrt sind, habe ich insgesamt gesehen, hin und wieder erlebt. Das liegt meines Erachtens an der Routenplanung und den dann vorgegeben Parametern, wie z.B. Kurvenreiche Strecke i.V.m. den Einstellungen für Kurven/Berge auf höchster Stufe, unbefestigtste Wege mit eingeschlossen. Ansonsten lotst das Navi einen sehr gut durch die Gegend. Tourenplanung über das Navidisplay geht, aber mit einer Karte geht es wesentlich schneller. Der Touchscreen ist nun an diesem Navi echt super gut gelungen und reagiert optimal. Die Menüführung ist wie bei allen anderen Ridern übersichtlich und leicht verständlich. TomTom legt für das Navi keine Bedienungsanleitung bei, aber man braucht auch wirklich keine, da die einzelnen Menüpunkte selbsterklärend sind und das Navi von jedem ohne Probleme bedient werden kann. Das einzigste was ich bei TomTom nie verstehen werde ist, dass die Funktion des Telefon/Telefonbuch zu Beginn nicht auf den neuen Ridern möglich ist, obwohl dies auf den Vorgängern perfekt funktionierte. Das Ganze wird dann immer nach ein paar Wochen von TomTom durch Updates nachgeholt. Der Grund warum dies nie gleich auf dem Navi installiert ist, ist nicht nachvollziehbar. Ansonsten ist der Rider 550 ein sehr guter Nachfolger mit einigen Verbesserungen.
