Headwave TĀG Adhesive Pad


The adhesive pad is an accessory for the TĀG Sound System by Headwave. It is used for reattaching TĀG to another helmet.

Usage

Removing TĀG
First, TĀG must be removed from the old helmet. This is easiest with an old credit card and a bit of force. Simply slide the credit card under the edge of TĀG and slowly loosen it. TĀG adheres quite strongly – after all, it must withstand over 300kmh.
It is easiest to remove at room temperature or warmer. A hairdryer should not be used, as the heat could damage the device's batteries.

Cleaning TĀG and Placing Replacement Tape
Then remove the old tape residues and briefly clean the underside of TĀG with brake cleaner. Then peel off the protective film from the replacement adhesive pad and place it in the center of TĀG, smoothing outwards with your finger to avoid air bubbles. Smaller air bubbles are not critical. TĀG is now prepared for installation.

Installation on the New Helmet
Before sticking, the surface on the new helmet must be degreased. It is best to wipe the area once with brake cleaner and then with clear water.
Any stickers such as logos on the helmet must be removed before installation.
Now TĀG can be attached. Simply peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad, bend TĀG firmly so that the center first makes contact with the helmet, and then stick it on. Press firmly all over TĀG with the palm of your hand to ensure it has contact everywhere. The full adhesive strength of the tape develops within 24 hours.
A smaller gap at the edge of TĀG is not critical for vibration transmission, as this is transferred to the helmet in the center of the device.
