Honda CBF 600 and CBF 600 S injection – from 2008 onwards
In 2008, Honda presented 2 updated mid-range models: the CBF 600 (naked bike) and the CBF 600 S version with a front fairing (sports touring bike). Safety and comfort features such as ABS, seat height and windshield adjustment were offered, as were touring accessories and saddlebags. The straight 4-cylinder with 2 overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder is equipped with a fuel-efficient and low-emission fuel injection system and thus ideal for everyday use. Honda rode the wave of success with this concept and both models sold in great numbers from the start. The CBF 600 and CBF 600 S are sporty universal motorbikes that can be faithful servants to their
owners over many years when cared for properly. But despite optimum maintenance and care, there can be times on the streets of this world when a problem crops up and there is no Honda workshop nearby, and for that this book was written.

This handbook includes the following chapters:
– top test of the CBF 600 S from “Motorrad”, Europe’s most popular bike magazine
– workshop: the right tools for the hobby workshop, including special mechanics’ tips
– how to clean and care for your bike
– adjusting the windshield, levers and steering
– maintenance and mechanics’ tips to help you carry out your own maintenance and servicing
– all approved tyres for the CBF 600/S models from Avon, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Metzeler, Michelin and Pirelli
– removing/replacing wheels
– maintaining, caring for and repairing the brakes
– cleaning and lubricating the chain; mounting a new chain, front and rear sprocket
– inspecting and adjusting the front fork and suspension strut, changing the fork oil
– adjusting the steering bearings, fitting new bearings
– removing/replacing suspension strut and swingarm
– charging the battery, inspecting the charging system
– repairing the starter motor
– inspecting the spark plugs and ignition system
– checking the lights, changing bulbs
– changing fuses and relays
– fuel system: cleaning the air filter, finding and repairing faults in the injection system
– removing/fitting the exhaust system
– lubricating system: the right motor oil for the 4-cylinder bike, changing the oil yourself
– cooling system: checking, changing the coolant
– adjusting and repairing the clutch and gears
